Men’s Ministry Fall Kickoff

Our Men’s Ministry is kicking off the Fall with a fun gathering out at the Massey Farm. Join us for some fun, fellowship, firearms, and food!

There will be pistol, rifle and skeet shooting, followed by BBQ and a bonfire!

Use the link below to register online by August 18th.

Where is the Kickoff?
We will meet at the church at 3:45 (on Saturday, August 24th) and caravan from there to the Massey Farm (about 10 minutes away).

What are we going to be doing?
When we arrive we will do a quick area familiarization, followed by a safety brief and prayer. Clear direction will be given concerning the handling of guns and ammunition. Following the time of shooting we will have a chicken dinner and a short devotional. We will finish the evening with a bonfire and fellowship.

What are we going to be shooting?
We will have two shooting stations: clay pigeons and pistol. Both stations will be managed by a safety officer that will ensure things are done correctly and safely. As with any shooting event where there are a bunch of barrel-chested warrior men there will definitely be opportunity for a little competition for those that want to participate 😁.

Guns and Ammunition?
Regarding guns and ammunition. Please bring what you plan on shooting. Again, we will be shooting shotguns and pistols only. Please bring the ammunition for those guns. Please do not bring your latest toy to show off if it is not a pistol or a shotgun. We will have other opportunities at future events to shoot other types of guns. If you do not have a gun don’t worry, there will be plenty to share. We will give clear direction on how usage of someone else’s gun will work.

What about safety with that many people shooting?
We are fully aware of the risks that are associated with a large number of men doing a shooting event. We will be very purposeful in how we mitigate risks while at the same time creating a welcoming and fun environment.

What about children and youth?
Youth ages 12 and up can come, but they must be under adult supervision.

We are looking forward to a relaxed but very safe time as we gather to fellowship and encourage each other.
