DISCIPLESHIP  RESOURCES  ACROSS  SLBC  MINISTRY

Below, you will find specific resources that will allow families to continue biblical discussions within the family about things being learned in Sunday School, Children's Church, Youth Services, and our Sunday Sermons. The goal is to equip parents to be the primary disciple making leaders in their home while being equipped to have discussions towards understanding and application of biblical truths being discussed in places where parents might not be present for the teaching. These weekly resources should have an overview of what was studied, specific questions for discussion, and possibly some memory verses to focus on monthly. We hope these resources will be an encouragement to you and to your family as you lead the way by pointing your children to God's Word and God's Work in one another's lives.

What is the authors main point for writing 8:1 after including everything mention in chapter 7?

THE MAIN IDEA FOR THE WEEK:
God is Greater Than Everything
This week we are looking at the story of David defeating Goliath.
The Israelites were helpless to defeat the giant enemy Goliath, but God sent David to save them.

DISCUSSION QUESTION:
Does Trusting God mean everything will always work out how we want? Why?
Trusting God doesn’t mean we always get what we want. But when we trust God, we get to experience more of God.
When we trust God, He gives us His peace, joy, comfort, and hope.
Trusting in God is always best because we give Him glory and show others how He alone is worth trusting in.

APPLICATION QUESTION:
Why is God Greater than Goliath and our enemies, sin and death?

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:
There is none like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is great in might. - Jeremiah 10:6

STUDENT MINISTRIES SERVICES - 6TH - 12TH GRADE

THE MAIN IDEA FOR THE WEEK:
Genesis 3:8 - 11, 15, 20 - 24; Romans 5:15 - 21
This week we are finishing  a series called “Snap That”, we look at The Garden of Eden and how sin changes our relationships
This week we looked at, how sin changes our relationship with God but Jesus changes everything.

DISCUSSION QUESTION:
Will you let Jesus repair the relationships that sin has destroyed?
That is what he came to do! God loves you and me so much that when we broke our relationship with him, when we sinned, when we messed up, he wasn’t okay with that. He wasn’t okay with us dying, he wasn’t okay with us not being able to walk with him anymore; so he died for us.
APPLICATION QUESTION:
Why is it important that we run to Jesus daily?
Why is it important that when we mess up, we repent and look to Jesus?
